Muhammad A-Z +2

I happen to stumble upon this extraordinary video talking about Prophet Mohammed PBUH! the host of the show is none other than Shiekh Yusuf Estes the very famous ex-Chirstian preacher...
the video is titled "Muhammad A-Z +2"...
to quote from the video...
[["Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"
Lamartine, HISTOIRE DE LA TURQUIE, Paris, 1854, Vol. II, pp. 276-277.]]]

The Journey to the Great Mosaic

On Friday 24th I had spent a joyful evening organized by ambitious great ladies and girls whom they gathered as part of Ulfah arts.
The concert included nasheeds, poems and stories! A soul- touching evening! It was a women only night! And it was really intimate and close to the heart!
Ulfah arts are innovative, honest, new and diverse! Not only have they done music but visual arts as well. Their massege is "Univesal Love for all Humans".
In the concert they had some guests like Edinburgh Interfaith Choir who preformed twice and in one time they made the audience take a part as well! Jeanni Cranfield led us and told us exactly what to sing and in what tune and for how long! This was a very nice experience!
Among the guests as well Hanifa Haadiya who recited some of her poems! Her words are captivating and spiritual!
This is surely a night to remember…
Alhamdullilah who gathered us on the word of tawheed! May He protect us, guide us and show us the right way!

an intentionless virus and a meaning-filled culture

[[Williamson has pointed to the radical implications of this collision between an intentionless virus and a meaning-filled culture: nothing could be more meaningless than a virus. It has no point, no purpose, no plan; it is part of no scheme, carries no inherent significance. And yet nothing is harder for us to confront that the complete absence of meaning. By its very definition, meaninglessness cannot be articulated within our social language, which is a system of meaning: impossible to include, as an absence, it also impossible to exclude – for meaninglessness isn’t just the opposite of meaning, it is the end of meaning, and threatens the fragile structures by which we make sense of the world.]] Hacking Away at the Counterculture Andrew Ross

sevdim...

on the day where all people celebrate Love...
I remembered a love that transcends the barrier of language, race, age, gender....
a love that is pure... a love that is unbreakable...
though I don't know Turkish... I still can feel... these songs...
for you... my Beloved Prophet... for you my best Teacher... For You Messanger of Allah... for Mohammed peace be upon him...

SEVDİM SENİ

Sevdim seni mâbuduma
Canân diye sevdim.
Bir ben degil âlem sana
Hayran diye sevdim.

Evlad-i iyalden gecerek
Ben Ravzana geldim.
Ahlâkını meth etmede
Kur`an diye sevdim

Kurbanın olam Şah-i Rasül
Kovma kapından
Didârına müştak olan
Yezdân diye sevdim.

Mahşerde nebiler bile
Senden medet ister.
Gül yüzlü melekler sana
Hayran diye sevdim.

the choas is still on...

Well… it seems that the story with the Denmark’s harassments to our beloved Prophet Mohammed PBUH is not over yet!
I came upon this article written in Arabic by AbdulBari Atwan… it is a good one… to read the full text in Arabic click here
Here is some of it translated to English by me… so sorry for any mistake…
[[ we live in the west for 30 years now and we admit that there are laws and culture that protect freedom of speech unlike the Arab world where there is oppression and no freedoms… but we also know that there are certain limitations that would prevent any ridicule to religions and other beliefs…. So what happened is only an Anti-Islam act that all started after 9/11…
None of the European newspapers or TV channels would dare to ridicule the Jews or Christianity… or question the story of the holocaust and if you did there are laws that would put those who do that in Jail for years… anti-Semitic in the west is a crime but Anti-Islam is a normal thing and is considered freedom of speech… and any objection to that is countered with rejections and accusations of retardation….]]

Unfortunately we live in a double standard world… were laws are chosen on whom to be subjected… we as Muslims were most of our rights are lost not by the west but by our own countries and selves… we should re-think a lot… and revise the way we perceive our culture and our Islam so as to be able to stand up and call for our rights back!!!
We should go back to our Islam and stop this chaos that we partaken in… uncontrolled anger is very dangerous… blaming it all on the west is not right… and going to violent measures is surely WRONG….
We should remember that our Prophet Mohammed PBUH was sent as a mercy to the humankind… we should try to imitate that… and fight with reason for our rights and dignity back…

why the sigh....

[[I shall be telling this with a sigh,
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood and I
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference]] Robert Frost

This is my favorite English poem ever… I keep on reciting it over and over… and every time I feel something different… but I always wondered why did he sigh?...
I know her… I know that she is a traveler as well… so I met her… and asked her this… and that was her reply which I’ll try to quote as faithfully as possible…
[[their roads met… so they began traveling together… she enjoyed his company… he was just a new traveler… she felt the changes in him and respect them… he on the other hand was enjoying her company as well… and he was feeling stronger by each day… they went through some rough turns, blocked roads… like any traveler… obstacles becomes a part of the journey… once she felt he was sad… so she asked him… “Do you prefer a simpler path? Do you wish that none of these obstacles exist? Do you wish you had it all as easily as possible?”…. he looked at her concealed behind his smile and said… “NO!... am not stupid to think this way! I feel strong… and I will never be weakened”… silently she prayed “I hope this is right!”… and so they continue their way… until… the road diverged… and as always… one is less traveled by… she didn’t think nor ask him… she just went on to that road… because this is her way of traveling… she wasn’t thinking about what he might’ve chosen! And then when she looked back to see him… he wasn’t there!.... she saw his shadow walking in the road widen by more people… silently she stood observing him there… and then she look at the road she was walking alone now! So she sighed…]]
My friend had a pause… I was waiting for the rest of her story or answer… but she kept on being silent… I asked her… then why did she sigh? She looked at me and said… “That’s why!” and she went away… leaving me puzzled…
Why did she sigh? Did he sigh?
I wondered… I couldn’t stop thinking why?! But then maybe… after all… the emotions of that moment whether they are bitter or sweet… happy or sad… relief or anger… they are personal… they should be concealed behind that sigh… no one can understand them… and maybe no one should seek to understand them… because once your time comes… you might sigh! And at the end… each will walk his/her path…
